The two honorary awards have been made public and have their own section in the ADI Awards exhibition.

The two honorary awards included in the ADI Awards were made public during the opening of the exhibition “ADI Awards 2024. Industrial design and design culture“, on May 30. These awards are given to entities or people who stand out for their continued career or trajectory in their commitment to excellence in design and in this edition they are the Delta Trajectory Award, awarded to the motorcycle company Montesa, and the ADI Cultura Trajectory Award, which in this edition is awarded to the Mies van der Rohe Foundation.

Montesa, Delta Trajectory Award 2024

The ADI-FAD board has decided to award the Delta Trajectory Award to Montesa, a company dedicated to the manufacture of motorcycles for more than seven decades, which has become, thanks to specialization and the search for excellence, one of the oldest companies in the sector.

Throughout all these years, Montesa has distinguished itself with such emblematic models as the iconic Montesa Cota, marketed uninterruptedly since 1968, with which it debuted for the first time in international competitions, becoming a world reference in the Trial sector.

The recognition of the Delta Gold Award, in 1962, obtained for the design of the Impala; the Delta Silver Award, in 1968, for Cota 247; or the Delta Bronze Award that Cota 301RR obtained in 2020, demonstrate the Catalan company’s commitment to industrial design.

A company formed by a team of people passionate about their work and their sector and who are part, thanks to the esteem and admiration of various generations, of the material and intangible heritage of our country.

Mies van der Rohe Foundation, ADI Culture Trajectory Award 2024

The ADI Culture 2024 Jury has decided to award the ADI Cultura Trajectory Award to the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, for its persistent cultural activity, promoting debate and raising awareness on issues of architecture, urban planning, art and design.

The foundation was created in 1983 by Barcelona City Council, for the reconstruction of the German pavilion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich for the 1929 International Exhibition.

For more than forty years, it has been able to preserve its heritage legacy, a symbol of the Modern Movement, as the epicenter where exhibitions, congresses, conferences, awards, workshops, installations and cultural events can be organized at a local and international level, preserving the heritage received and actively contributing to the promotion and dialogue of the sector.
