DIY Materials 

Could molecular gastronomy help discover new matter? The industrial design engeneer Laurence Humier adressed this question in collaboration with the chemical engineer Audrey Tardieu. On the ocassion of the conference, Humier explored the properties of DIY Materials together with Javier Peña (director of Materfad).

Laurence Humier is an engineer and a new generation entrepreneur providing innovative design-driven systems, services and products to organizations and private customers by questioning, experimenting and manufacturing new tools in the field of industrial design and education. She debuted at an international level in 2010, when one of her creations was included in the permanent collection of New York’s MoMA. Her latest project, Cooking Material create a relationship between culinary and non-culinary materials. Over the last two years, she hold workshops about DIY materials at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris La Villette, the Maker Fair in Roma, the Hand’s On International conference in Stockholm, the Science Festival in Genova, at the Espace des Inventions in Lausanne, at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, and the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt museum in New York.    @Humier
