This award recognises the proposal that questions and transgress the limits of contemporary jewellery through its originality, technical quality and the conceptual richness. The 2024 Enjoia’t awards put the focus on sustainability, traceability, and the resignification of materials in contemporary jewellery.
ENJOIA’T Contemporary Jewellery Awards is an open call that has taken place for 27th editions and prizes remarkable, contemporary jewellery creations. It is an important meeting of professional and student jewellers from all over the world, which occurs during Barcelona Jewellery Week.
ENJOIA’T rewards originality, technical quality, conceptual richness and transgression in the field of jewellery. Due to the high international participation, ENJOIA’T has become a window for new trends from different cultural perspectives.
The 2024 Enjoia’t Awards operate within a new framework: Enjoia’t – Con-X Ion, inspired by philosopher Donna Haraway’s “multispecies” networks, at a time when we face the urgent task of introducing post-human and post-anthropocentric perspectives in our relationship with the environment and the beings that inhabit it. This call for connection seeks to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing in an interdisciplinary and global context.
Sustainability, traceability, and the recycling of the materials used in contemporary jewelry are at the core of the open call of this year. We invite you to join us to imagine possible futures of contemporary jewellery together through through the process of reuse, creation of biomaterials and resignifying this year’s pieces.
What makes The Contemporary Jewellery Awards ENJOIA’T so unique is due to the chosen participants having to defend their pieces in front of the professional judges. Once they have finished defending their pieces and the judges have decided the finalists and the winners, the jewellers have to wear their pieces during the award ceremony. Afterwards, the audience can meet the designers, see the pieces up close and vote for the piece who they think should win the Public Opinion Award. A single winner is established by category, Professional and Student, and there is a maximum of two finalists. The winners will be in charge of designing the crown for the next Awards.
ENJOIA’T is much more than just an awards ceremony and aims to be a platform that boosts the visibility of creators, both for professionals and students. This is achieved by a collective exhibition made up of all the pieces that were selected by the professional judges from the current edition. On top of that every year, conferences, talks and workshops are organised around the topic of contemporary jewellery to reflect on different theoretical and practical aspects.
