FAD Certification of Design Quality

The FAD Certification of Design Quality is a seal of quality awarded by the FAD and Applus+ to any hotel establishments that demonstrate the highest excellence in the implementation of good design practices.

The incorporation of design by hotel establishments leads to greater user satisfaction and contributes to an increase in the number of clients. Design is influential when choosing (choice at source) and a determining factor in client satisfaction (experience at destination). It is in this context that the FAD Certification of Design Quality has been created. This is a seal of quality that has the objective of fostering the use of design as a means to improving people’s quality of life and environment within the framework of hotel establishments.

Hotel establishments that obtain this certification will be pioneering the use of design, of good design, as a mechanism to improve the quality of their product and service.

Who provides it?

FAD (Fostering Arts and Design), a century-old organisation dedicated to the promotion and improvement of design in all its aspects, and Applus+, the first Spanish multinational in the field of certification.

The FAD Certification of Design Quality came into being when the FAD drove forward the idea of awarding a mark of quality to any businesses and institutions that implement good practice in design and that place at the disposal of the citizens products and services that exhibit these qualities. In order to fully develop this certification, the FAD has entered into a strategic alliance with Applus+, one of the leading companies in certifications, which has provided the draft of this regulation with the objectivity and structure required by an evaluation process such as this one: whilst the FAD’s prestige and reputation are recognized in the domain of design, so is the professionalism and rigour of Applus+ in the domain of certifications.
