«Design and film» series: Screening of «Food design – The film» (2007, Nikolaus Geyrhalter)
Design is everywhere and the diversity of its disciplines and manifestations can be ascertained in many audiovisual productions. It suffices to review the list of documentary productions in recent years on an international scale to discover a large number of very interesting titles, many of them never seen before in our cinemas, where the figures of the architect and the designer, together with their creations and contributions to society, have won them the recognition of international critics and public.
Aware of the value of this abundant and diverse filmography presented by the Filmoteca de Catalunya, Catalonia's Film Library, during the FADfest we can enjoy a monographic programme dedicated to documentary films in which design takes centre stage.

Designers create garments, furniture, cars and all kinds of useful objects. Food designers, in turn, get creative with the things we eat, giving them a specific shape and function. These professionals not only ensure that food and beverages find their way to our stomachs but also that the eating process is practical and involves all of our senses.
